Workshop: Green Spaces and Water as the backbone of the city
TNO and Stephan Dijcks (Municipality of Breda)
Entresol
How do you make choices in a city where climate adaptation, housing, biodiversity, and livability all converge? Using the challenge ‘Green and Water as the backbone of the city’ as an example, we demonstrate how a Digital Twin helps to approach complex issues in an integrated manner.
The central message: Breda is not building a Digital Twin for the sake of technology, but to be able to make better choices. The Digital Twin is a generic steering instrument that connects various policy domains, provides insight into the effects of choices, and helps the municipality maintain control over the city's development. In this way, data and visualizations support collaboration on societal challenges that truly matter.
