Local AI Walk: Data sovereignty and -continuity

Many AI applications run on large data centers far outside the city or even abroad. This raises questions about energy consumption, privacy and sovereignty. Local AI offers an alternative: small, energy-efficient AI models that run close to the city, on local infrastructure, with local data. This is not only about technology. It is about digital sovereignty, public control and the question of how cities can deploy AI without becoming dependent on Big Tech.
During the outdoor sessions we explore what that means in practice.
In this session we look at the data around us. How do we translate the outdoor space, and what happens there, into data, and how sensitive is that data? Which data may be shared with the whole world, and with which data must we handle carefully from the perspective of data sovereignty and continuity?
