Building a European marketplace where we, as a government, increase our control over AI and develop AI based on European values. Moreover, through the (re)use and joint purchasing power of AI, we combat waste. In the EuropAI project, recently awarded funding by the European Commission, work is being done on a European marketplace for AI solutions and AI building blocks. Not a central system, but a federated approach: countries retain their own marketplaces and allow them to collaborate. One of the themes where solutions are being sought in which AI can play a role is the theme of Spatial planning/analysis.
How does that work? What benefit does it offer us in Europe? How can you arrive at a single marketplace with different European cultures when, in reality, there is no time to lose?
Such a marketplace is already emerging in the Netherlands: sAIdkick. This brings overview and coherence to this development and is working step by step towards a government-wide marketplace for generative AI, which should be available in 2027.
